In addition to our work, we were able to experience some other really cool things on this trip that deserve mention:
On cloud 9...literally
On our last day in Kijabe, we hiked an inactive volcano called Mt. Logonot. While it was legitimately the hardest physical exercise I've ever done in my life (I'm not much of a hiker...), it was SO worth it! It was about 2 miles up and then about 4.5 miles around the rim. Between the insane views and the pride and adrenaline I felt from climbing all the way to the summit, I was one happy girl. When we reached the summit, you couldn't even see because we were in a cloud. Although this day didn't consist of any mission work, I felt so content and thankful. I was able to look around and physically see the greatness of God and was surrounded by people who had become such great friends to me. I was so overwhelmed with thankfulness!

AMsterdam
We flew from Nairobi to Amsterdam where we had an 11 hour layover. Because we arrived around 5:00 a.m. and were not leaving until late that afternoon, we were able to go out into Amsterdam and explore some!
Times square
Our next flight was from Amsterdam to New York. Once we landed in NY, we had an overnight layover, so we decided to go to Times Square for about an hour. Talk about a culture shock! Times Square is about as opposite of Kenya as it gets, so while it was awesome to get to see Times Square, we had an interesting perspective coming from two weeks in Africa.
